While the expansion of social media platforms has called for an increase in connectivity, especially across business platforms, the online world remains a treasure trove for misconceptions, leading small business owners astray. In this third quarterly Beltline Business Breakfast, the Atlanta Beltline Business Solutions Office invited local business owners to hear from key figures in the management and investment space, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to thrive.

Natalie Jones (Atlanta Beltline, Inc.) moderated the panel and was joined by Cynthia Freeman (Invest Atlanta), Harvey Adams (Angel Investor), Mark Steward (Legacy Optimizer), and Scott Whalen (Smith and Howard, LLC). The breakfast engaged its attendees in an interactive conversation concerning thought-provoking financial advice shared across digital platforms. The panelists were then invited to provide their expertise on each statement, outlining some of these key takeaways instead:

    1. Create a strong business plan showcasing passion and vision.

    2. Build a strong network and utilize it for counsel and research.

    3. Spend 20 minutes a week with your financials, tracking cash flow and revenue.

As financial strategies were a core part of this discussion and small business entrepreneurship, the panelists also took some time to suggest resources for funding, notably Honeycomb Financials for crowdfunding and Kiva Loans.

“If you don’t know your financials, you don’t know your business.” – Mark Steward (Legacy Optimizer)

Through planning, funding, and research, small businesses can beat the odds and prosper, reaching the markets they cater to. These components require trusted advisors who want the dreams of business owners to come true, and Atlanta Beltline is ready to commit to that journey with the upcoming Funding Fair.

The fair, taking place on September 17th, will invite owners to connect with financial organizations who can assist in growing and preparing small businesses ahead of large-scale events like FIFA World Cup 26.

Whether your business is just taking off or well underway, join Atlanta Beltline this September 17th at the Westside Warehouse from 1pm-4:30pm and take your goals to the next step.
