Atlanta Beltline hosted its first-ever Career Fair on August 27, connecting job seekers to a variety of industries from hospitality to tech-based enterprises. Pitching, sharing resumes, and filling out applications on the spot—community members were paired with the tools to re-enter the workforce and advance their careers.

Hosted in partnership with City of Refuge and Westside Works,  the fair welcomed over 600 attendees in search of employment. More than 20 companies participated as exhibitors, representing a wide range, including The City of Atlanta, Emory Healthcare, and Signia by Hilton Atlanta.

For law school graduate Noah Hill, the variety of opportunities was commendable, as were the efforts made by staff members to direct him towards the roles he could thrive in.

“The diversity of jobs is great,” said Hill. “Career fairs can make you feel vulnerable, but everyone was helpful.”

Whether participants had pre-registered online or walked in, all were welcome to browse the event and engage with potential employers.

“My son called me this morning and told me ‘Ma, there’s a career fair going on with the Atlanta Beltline,’” said Alison Griffiths, another attendee. “I’ve been to three career fairs already, and this is the best one.”

Ensuring everyone can benefit from the Beltline’s growth starts with meeting community members where they are. As part of a broader workforce development strategy, the Atlanta Beltline Career Fair helps expand access to opportunity, bringing residents directly in contact with local employers and delivering resources to support them long-term.

“The success of this first major workforce development event demonstrates the power of the Beltline as an economic engine and its ability to connect the community to quality jobs and career opportunities, not only along the trail corridor but across the Atlanta area,” said Kelvin Collins, Vice President of Economic Development at Atlanta Beltline, Inc. “We will continue collaborating with our partners and finding creative ways to prioritize these efforts, working to reach as many residents as possible.”
