Atlanta Beltline Creates Data & Impact Department, Led by New Director Devin Olmack

  • Atlanta Beltline‚ Inc.
SEPTEMBER 04, 2025

The Beltline is proud to announce the creation of its first-ever Data & Impact Department, marking a major milestone in the organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and measurable community progress. Leading this transformative effort is Devin Olmack, the Beltline’s inaugural Director of Impact and Evaluation.

In this new role, Olmack will oversee the development of systems and tools to better track, measure, and communicate the Beltline’s impact, ensuring data is at the heart of decisions that shape the future of the project.

“We are excited to welcome Devin to the organization”, said Nonet Sykes, Chief People and Impact Officer at Atlanta Beltline, Inc. “Under her leadership, our new department will sharpen our ability to advance measurable, equitable outcomes in communities surrounding the Beltline. Her expertise will help foster a culture of data-driven decision making and storytelling, ensuring the People’s Project delivers on its inclusive vision for Atlanta’s future.”

Olmack brings more than a decade of experience in measuring and evaluating community impact, most recently guiding the Impact Measurement of the Mission Driven Bank Fund. She began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador and holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Georgetown University.

Strengthening Our Influence

Although data has always informed our work, this new role and department will:

  • Improve our ability to deliver fair and measurable outcomes in the communities surrounding the Beltline.

  • Improve systems for tracking progress and communicating results.

  • Increase transparency and accountability to partners, stakeholders, and the public.

“I’m honored to join the Atlanta Beltline at such a pivotal and exciting moment,” said Olmack. “The Beltline stands as a global model for how it’s transforming Atlanta through connectivity, sustainability, and equity. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place to ensure data continues to be at the center of our decision-making and impact story.”

As the Beltline celebrates its 20th year and many large project milestones in 2025, Olmack will collaborate with Layla Bellows Banks, Data Insights Manager, and Jori O’Hanley, GIS (Geographic Information System) Manager, to help make sure the trail reflects the voices, stories, and identities of the communities that it runs through. Together, this new team will track goals like affordable housing and job growth, and use real-time data to guide smart investments, reduce the risk of displacement, and support community improvements.

The Beltline’s recently launched Reports & Insights hub offers the public a closer look at how data is shaping one of the most ambitious urban redevelopment projects in the world.
