NOVEMBER 07, 2025

With almost 2.5 million visits each year, the Beltline is one of Atlanta’s most beloved outdoor spaces. It takes all of us working together to keep it friendly, safe, and courteous for everyone.

Whether you’re walking, running, biking, rolling, or scootering, the Beltline is designed to be a safe and welcoming place for you to commute, exercise, explore Atlanta, or simply enjoy the outdoors. To help make sure everyone has a great experience, here are some friendly reminders for proper trail etiquette. It’s easy as ABC- Atlanta Beltline Courtesy!

Stay Alert

  • Always be aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents, especially on popular stretches of the trail.

  • Keep your ears open and stay attentive to sounds around you.

Keep the Trails Clean

  • Please pick up your litter—let’s keep the trails beautiful!

  • Clean up after your pets to maintain a healthy environment.

Keep Children Close

  • Always keep children within arm’s reach.

Share the Trail

  • Keep right to allow faster traffic to pass safely.

  • Walk only in twos, side-by-side, so the trail remains accessible for others.

  • Step off the trail if you need to stop or talk—don’t block the way!

Leash Your Pets

  • Keep pets leashed and close by to ensure safety for all trail users.

Ride Safely

  • Slow down, especially in busy areas.

  • Pass others on the left.

  • Call out “left” or ring your bell when passing to alert others.

  • Park scooters and other e-devices in designated parking spaces off the trail.

Atlanta Beltline Ambassador Program

Launched in June 2025, this new program increases our presence along the Atlanta Beltline. Working alongside the City of Atlanta’s Police Path Force and Park Ranger Units, our ambassadors help keep the trail beautiful, perform daily safety and security inspections, and assist with incident reports.

See them on the trail? Don’t hesitate to reach out—they’re there to help! Learn more here.

Community Committed to Care

By following these simple etiquette guidelines and supporting the efforts of our ambassadors, each of us plays a vital role in preserving the Beltline as a vibrant, inclusive space for all. As a daily commuter or a first-time visitor, your respect and care help make Where Atlanta Comes Together a place we can all be proud of.
