Grand Prize Winners From Last Year is an Atlanta based band that began performing together in 2010. Since that time they have performed with acts such as Cee-Lo Green, The Roots, and Kid Cudi. They refer to their music as genre-less but have drawn comparisons to B.O.B., Prince, and Bruno Mars. Converse Shoes selected GPWFLY as winners of their Global Sponsorship program and GPWFLY has been featured in major publications including The Fader and Rolling Stone Magazine where J. Edward Keyes wrote: “Think full-band Outkast: These fellow ATLiens blend Dre and Big Boi's knack for nimble rhymes with weirdo spaced-out funk horns and rock making snarling songs that swivel and pounce.” The video for their single “Electric Blue” was featured at the Atlanta Film Festival where GPWFLY opened for Fuse TV's Big Freedia. GPWFLY has also licensed their music for use on TV in ABC's Scandal, IFC's Portlandia, and The Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
