The Fates
Drew Borders | 2021

The Fates, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropo are represented as three Black women. A child, a woman, and an elderly lady. The Fates work with a predetermined destiny. They decide the length of the life and when it will come to an end. This depiction of the Fates puts Black women, a historically marginalized group, in charge of the destinies of all. For once, they hold the power, their voice is final and cannot be overpowered.
