Julio Ceballos is an emerging Atlanta artist whose work draws inspiration from science, technology and the environment to dissect trends and behaviors in contemporary culture. His current work focuses on consumer culture and the effects technology has on how we interact with our environment and each other. He is a resident artist at the Mammal Gallery and a recent graduate of Georgia State University. While primarily having studied and practiced painting and other two-dimensional media his work varies in medium ranging from large-scale murals, digital art, installation art and sculpture. Julio’s philosophy is that art, as a form of communication, should always attempt to involve and address the public directly and that this cannot be done solely from the confines of gallery walls. Christine Lu is a working artist who has recently graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting from Georgia State University. She has been in multiple shows including “Vessels” at Kibbee Gallery. Her work focuses on humanity, society and how people interact with one another. Her usual mediums are paint and woodwork. Christine currently works at Kibbee Gallery and continues to create works that, hopefully, people can connect to and use to see into other’s lives.
