A series of public live painting demonstrations along the Atlanta BeltLine that will capture the vivacious essence of the active Atlanta BeltLine. The art experience will expose the general public to traditional and expressive painting processes. Viewing live painting sessions will allow the community to discover and explore the Atlanta BeltLine through a new visual lens.

About the Artist

Rachel Evans

Rachel Evans is a visual artist, passionate educator and ambassador with an interest in promoting the importance of creative influence on communities. An Atlanta native, Rachel is a studio resident at the Goat Farm Arts Center. Her paintings focus on regional rural and urban landscapes and cloudscapes, often composed in the French tradition “en plein air” or on- site in open air. Favorite Atlanta area locations to paint include Piedmont Park, the Atlanta Beltline, the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and Stone Mountain Park. While painting on location she is often accompanied by her canine art assistant, an American Eskimo mix named Gringo. Rachel is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design [SCAD] earning an MFA in Painting and MA in Arts Administration. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Art with a Psychology minor from Auburn University. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering as a teen art instructor with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and is a member of the Atlanta Cultural Educators. She works at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion and Film and SCAD Atlanta exhibitions. This artist has exhibited throughout the United States, in France and completed a residency at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York City. Rachel is represented in Atlanta by Brickworks Gallery, located on the Atlanta Beltline.
