Molly Rider

Wade Tilton | 2014

A live narrative art installation piece about a bicycle rider trying to navigate life, the performance consists of three performers (one performer on a bike, and two puppeteers). The bike operates the set, all being put in motion from the pedals of the bicycler. Molly, the cyclist, goes through her past, present, and future in a ten minute monologue that tries to understand her present place in the world. Two to three songs are interjected throughout the monologue, and there is a strange interaction with Joan, her GPS system, who played by the same actress. As Molly goes through her monologue the puppeteers will interject and interact with shadow puppets on the giant scrim that is directly behind the cyclist as it pertains to the story.
