Imagining Ephemeral
Jessi Queen | 2013
Imagining Ephemeral is a sidewalk chalk piece that displays the effects of weathering over time. Nature affects all things, natural and manmade. The sidewalk chalk medium itself depends on the stability of the world around it to last. The visual representation is temporary and the artist will come back on certain dates to redraw it. Each time, the work will be drawn a little differently and will evolve as nature itself does due to weather and time. If viewed from certain points along the Atlanta Beltline path the work looks three-dimensional.
