Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) provides intense music education for underserved youth right in their neighborhood. AMP’s mission is to inspire social change by providing Atlanta’s underserved youth the opportunity to learn and perform music in youth orchestras and choirs. AMP has three main programs: AMP String Orchestra; AMP Wind Ensemble; and AMPlify, the choral program of the Atlanta Music Project. The proposed performance would feature the AMPlify program. The young artists of AMPlify have performed at some of Atlanta’s most prestigious venues, including the Woodruff Arts Center, Spivey Hall and the Rialto Center for the Arts. AMPlify participants are students at Ivy Preparatory Academy Kirkwood, and are in grades 1-9. The choir performs a varied repertoire of traditional children’s choral music, jazz, folk songs and world music. The concert will be conducted by AMPlify Director, Aisha Bowden.
