The Knitterati is a collective of eight Atlantans who enjoy knitting and crocheting as a productive excuse to hang out, catch up, and show support for the Beltline.
Close Knit
The Knitterati | 2013
Close Knit is comprised of 22 objects with knitted and crocheted coverings that pay tribute to the historic 22-mile railroad corridor that circles downtown Atlanta and links the intown neighborhoods. The Knitterati’s theme is “wheels and being on the go.” Covered objects include: bicycles, a vaccum cleaner and a pram. The installations are functional without being disruptive, fitting into the existing urban/environmental landscape and bringing a stronger aesthetic appeal to the site.
