Business on the Atlanta BeltLine: Pijiu Belly

In honor of National Small Business Week, which runs May 2-6, 2022, and to kick off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month 2022, we are pleased to introduce you to Pijiu Belly.

Pijiu Belly is an Asian fusion gastropub in West Midtown serving local beer, craft cocktails, and Chinese-Korean inspired cuisine.  While they are not directly on the future BeltLine Trail, they are one of the many small businesses, located within a ½ mile of the trail corridor, that make up the BeltLine Business Community. Offering a fun, relaxed vibe in a cozy neighborhood setting, Pijiu Belly has been a staple in the community since December 2014.

“Pijiu Belly is our American Dream,” said Pijiu Belly co-owner, Lili Shou, who runs the restaurant with her brother, Lenny Shou. “Our family has operated and worked in so many restaurants for almost 40 years since we came to America, but Pijiu Belly is our family restaurant, on our own property. To us it means a lot and it’s something we are very proud of.”

Hear from Lenny, as he shares about how the family-owned-and-operated business got started and what it means for him to be a BeltLine business.
