Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. to Host Contractor Introduction Events

“Meet and Greets” provide tips & mentorship for engaging with the Atlanta BeltLine

Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is hosting two upcoming events to encourage Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) to work on projects for the city’s largest urban redevelopment venture. The sessions will give tips, solicitation pointers, and insights on upcoming procurement opportunities. They will also provide opportunities to connect contractors who could partner together.

The BeltLine is looking for a multitude of construction contractors and other businesses to build the trail and to tell the BeltLine’s story. Representatives of DBEs will learn about how to do business with ABI from staff and general contractors with experience on Atlanta BeltLine projects.

The outreach effort is part of the Atlanta BeltLine’s mission to build a more equitable and inclusive future that reimagines how people work, live, play, and thrive in Atlanta. With $300 million in funding through a Special Service District and a RAISE grant, ABI is seeking diverse business partners as it ramps up major projects to complete the 22-mile, multi-use trail by 2030. The BeltLine will continue to work toward completion of the trail with the support of its partners.

“With work underway along every part of the Atlanta BeltLine, we would like a broad range of businesses to be a part of this transformational project,” said Clyde Higgs, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. President & CEO. “From qualified DBE construction contractors and sub-contractors to business services, we would like everyone to attend this event at no cost and leave with tips and tools for the opportunity to participate in BeltLine projects.”

General Contractors with experience on Atlanta BeltLine projects will be in attendance to answer questions in a small group discussion format. The list below includes, but is not exclusive of, the desired categories and types of contractors/vendors sought by ABI.

As one of the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs in the United States, the Atlanta BeltLine is the catalyst for making Atlanta a global beacon for equitable, inclusive, and sustainable city life. ABI has always solicited and encouraged participation by qualified DBE and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) contractors and is seeking additional MBE contractors to help us complete the remaining work by the end of 2030.

  1. I am interested in learning more about the program. My business doesn’t fit into any of the above opportunities. I’m an herbalist and a native of Atlanta. I lead forest bathing walks and herbal medicine-making, soap-making classes, and more. Is there any community teaching or tour guide opportunities?

    1. Hi Quinnie – the categories listed are our current ones and we don’t anticipate hiring outside of those at the moment. The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership administers tours, so you could reach out to them at info@atlblp.org to see if there are any opportunities.
      Thanks,
      Jenny

  2. Hello Jenny,

I was unable to attend both of the virtual info sessions. Is it possible to get a copy of the zoom meeting or could you forward the contact information of the ABI rep that hosted the event? My team and I would like to get more information on participating in the upcoming opportunities.

  3. My team and I were unable to attend both of the DBE contractor info sessions. Please let me know if it is possible to obtain any of the information that was shared during the session or possibly connect with the host of the session to obtain information on working as a DBE contractor with Atlanta Beltline and their partners?
