A new season. A new trail. The same magic. Mark your calendar for the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade on the Westside Trail on May 21, 2022.
Now in its 12th year, the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade is a beloved Atlanta celebration of creativity, community, and light. Created and presented by Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, the parade has accomplished its mission of attracting visitors to discover the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail—growing from some 400 participants in 2010 to an estimated 70,000 in 2019.
The time has come to spread the light and the joy.
We hope to see you—lantern in hand— on the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail on May 21, 2022.

Alternative modes of transportation are highly encouraged. Participants and attendees should plan to take MARTA to the West End station, utilize a ride share service, or bike. You can visit itsmarta.com for train and bus schedule information. There is limited street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods – we ask that you please be respectful of residents. Be advised that rolling street closures will begin at 7:30 p.m. on May 21. I’m new to Atlanta and I live in West Lake. I would love to watch but not walk. Is that an option? Are there places one can view and not walk?
Hello, and welcome to Atlanta. Yes, we have a map on our webpage that features recommended viewing locations. https://art.beltline.org/files/2018/09/abl-lantern-parade-postcard-web.pdf Enjoy the parade!
How long is the parade? It starts at 8:45 at what time does it end?
It’s about a mile long and then people can continue hanging out at Lee + White, so there’s no set end tie. I hope you got to get out and enjoy the parade on Saturday!
What time does the workshop and the kids lantern parade begin?
That event took place from 2-7 p.m. Hope you were able to make it out on Saturday!
