Save the Date: 12th Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade

A new season. A new trail. The same magic. Mark your calendar for the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade on the Westside Trail on May 21, 2022.

Now in its 12th year, the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade is a beloved Atlanta celebration of creativity, community, and light. Created and presented by Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, the parade has accomplished its mission of attracting visitors to discover the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail—growing from some 400 participants in 2010 to an estimated 70,000 in 2019.

The time has come to spread the light and the joy.

We hope to see you—lantern in hand— on the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail on May 21, 2022.

    1. This parade is replacing the one from fall 2021 and a determination has not yet been made on a parade for fall 2022.

  1. Where is the information for lantern workshops? Last time I was able to pay and go to an actual workshop. Please advise. Thanks!

    1. Yes, there will be workshops, a location is being determined and we’ll be sure to share once it’s finalized.

    1. There won’t be any food trucks in Adair Park, but Lee + White has a lot of dining options.
      Thanks!

    1. Hi Amanda,
Alternative modes of transportation are highly encouraged. Participants and attendees should plan to take MARTA to the West End station, utilize a ride share service, or bike. You can visit itsmarta.com for train and bus schedule information. There is limited street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods – we ask that you please be respectful of residents. Be advised that rolling street closures will begin at 7:30 p.m. on May 21. Catherine Street will be closed between Allene Avenue and the north end of Lexington Avenue at 8 p.m. Allene Avenue will be closed between Brookline Street and Warner Street at 8:30 p.m.
      Thanks,
      Jenny

  2. I’m new to Atlanta and I live in West Lake. I would love to watch but not walk. Is that an option? Are there places one can view and not walk?

    1. It’s about a mile long and then people can continue hanging out at Lee + White, so there’s no set end tie. I hope you got to get out and enjoy the parade on Saturday!

    1. Hi Amaliya, that parking lot was closed for the parade – hopefully, you were able to navigate to the parade alright on Saturday!
