The Atlanta Beltline is seeking volunteers to join the Atlanta Beltline Affordable Housing Advisory Board (BAHAB). Created in 2007 through Atlanta City Council legislation, the board’s primary function is to advise on the administration and execution of the Beltline Affordable Housing Trust Fund (BAHTF). The purpose of this fund is to help in the development of 5,600 units of affordable housing within the Beltline Tax Allocation District (TAD).

The Advisory Board for BAHAB is made up of a range of stakeholders representing various governing bodies as well as Atlanta Public Schools. Specifically, BAHAB members assist with the following:

  • Making recommendations to the Atlanta Beltline, Invest Atlanta and the City on goals and policies for the use of BAHTF dollars

  • Monitoring the location and availability of affordable housing throughout the Beltline

  • Coordinating the activities of BAHAB with other affordable housing activities throughout the Beltline TAD

Applicants are nominated and appointed in accordance with the City Authorizing Legislation.  Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday on a quarterly basis from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm virtually or in-person at the Atlanta Beltline, Inc. office.

Qualifications

Members must reside in the City of Atlanta and have demonstrated experience in affordable housing development, affordable housing construction, down-payment assistance, supportive housing, urban design and planning, green building, architecture (multi-family or mixed-use projects), and real estate finance.
