Job Training Offers the Chance to Live, Work and Thrive
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and Atlanta BeltLine Partnership are pleased to announce a new collaboration with STRIVE Atlanta made possible with seed funding from Atlanta CareerRise. STRIVE’s proven five-pillar model (job readiness training, occupational skills training, career coaching/case management, job placement, and lifetime support) creates a clear pathway to long-term career success.
The partnership will provide residents with skills they need to secure family-sustaining jobs so they can live, work, and thrive along the BeltLine transportation corridor. Concurrently, it will give BeltLine businesses access to nearby employees who are ready to work.
“This partnership accelerates economic opportunities in the midst of today’s challenging times,” said Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. CEO Clyde Higgs. “The Atlanta BeltLine’s vision is dedicated to ensuring that all Atlantans benefit and prosper from the Atlanta BeltLine’s progress.”
“We are excited for STRIVE Atlanta to join our growing coalition of partners who help empower BeltLine residents to achieve a higher quality of life,” said Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Executive Director Rob Brawner. “By connecting BeltLine residents and businesses to a coordinated network of training providers, we can help ensure people benefit from the new jobs and economic activity the BeltLine brings to their communities.”
“At STRIVE, we believe deeply that everyone should have access and opportunity to build a career and achieve upward mobility for themselves & their families,” said STRIVE Atlanta Executive Director Jomal Vailes. “We look forward to engaging the total community to help fulfill that promise, working with vital partners like the Atlanta BeltLine who are deeply vested in leveling the playing field for all, including residents on the Southside.”
STRIVE Atlanta, the first wholly-owned expansion site of the STRIVE organization in New York City, will be accepting applications for its first job training cohort in the fall.
