Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Hosts Eighth Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) and Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines invite runners of all fitness levels to participate in the eighth annual Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K on Saturday, December 1, 2018. The race starts at 9:30 a.m. on Krog Street between Stoveworks and Krog Street Market and showcases the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail with participants passing through the historic neighborhoods of Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Virginia-Highland and Midtown. The course includes a short stretch through Piedmont Park before returning to the Eastside Trail. The finish line will be on the Eastside Trail extension just south of the Atlanta BeltLine Center. The Eastside 10K is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. The top three overall male and female Masters finishers (40+), Grand Masters finishers (50+), Senior Masters (60+) finishers and top three finishers in each age category will also receive medals. Participants are encouraged to create or join a team as awards will also be presented to the largest, fastest and top fundraising teams and the top individual fundraiser.

The Atlanta BeltLine Eastside 10K is part of the 2018 Run.Walk.Go! Race Series. In July, more than 1,250 runners participated in the Westside 5K/8K on the Westside Trail. All Run.Walk.Go! Race proceeds benefit the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the nonprofit that raises funds and builds broad-based support for the Atlanta BeltLine project.

Joining Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines in supporting this year’s race are Big Peach Running Co. and Wild Heaven Beer (Silver level); Astra, Atlanta United FC, Chicago Bar Company and The Icebox (Bronze level); Asana Partners, Bar Mercado, Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters, Recess and The Coca-Cola Company (In Kind sponsors); and media partner The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“The Atlanta BeltLine is sparking a fun culture of health, activity, and community in our city,” said ABP Deputy Executive Director David Jackson. “The Atlanta BeltLine Run.Walk.Go! Race Series is the perfect way for people of all fitness levels to explore different trail segments while staying fit and active. We thank Delta Air Lines and all of this year’s sponsors for their generous support of the Run.Walk.Go! Race Series and the 2018 Eastside 10K.”

“Giving back to the communities where we live, work and serve, is core to our culture at Delta,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director-Community Engagement at Delta Air Lines. “As a global airline, we are committed to contributing one percent of our net income to charitable organizations worldwide each year, and as Atlanta’s hometown airline, we are honored to sponsor the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and its annual Run.Walk.Go! race series.”
