This year’s Westside race starts and ends at the Lee + White Development and makes extensive use of the Westside Trail, which opened to the public in September 2017. Hundreds of participants – from avid runners to families with pets and strollers – will run/walk through historic neighborhoods like West End and Westview with 8K participants continuing on the trail to Washington Park and back. Atlanta BeltLine Fitness Ambassador Madison James will be on hand to lead participants in a pre-race warmup. This year’s race features an afterparty at Monday Night Garage, also located at Lee + White and featuring direct access off the Westside Trail.

Race participants can register individually or as part of a team. Race awards will be given to the top three male/female finishers, and to the top three male/female finishers in each age category. Fundraising in support of ABP programming is an important part of the Run.Walk.Go Race Series, and awards will be provided to the top fundraising individual and team.

Last year’s top fundraising team, Team Sperling.

“The Run.Walk.Go! Race Series is a key part of the Partnership’s mission to engage with residents in Atlanta BeltLine communities in ways that promote healthy, active lifestyles,” said ABP Executive Director Rob Brawner. “This year’s Westside 5K/8K is especially meaningful to us with most of the race being run on the new Westside Trail for the very first time. We are grateful to our Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines and for the generous support of all of our race sponsors.”

Last year’s winner of the largest team prize, the West End Mavericks.

“Giving back to the communities where we live, work and serve, is core to our culture,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director-Community Engagement at Delta Air Lines. “As a global airline, we are committed to contributing one percent of our net income to charitable organizations worldwide each year. And, as Atlanta’s hometown airline, we are honored to support our local community and sponsor the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and its annual Run.Walk.Go! Race Series.”
