Atlanta – Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is pleased to announce the hiring of Benjamin Limmer as Transportation Director, a role that leads the planning, programming and project delivery for the Atlanta BeltLine’s transit and street improvement program. In this capacity, Mr. Limmer will lead the effort to implement the 22-mile Atlanta BeltLine transit loop with the Atlanta Streetcar crosstown network, as well as the implementation of Atlanta BeltLine 46-mile streetscape program and accompanying elements of the Connect Atlanta Transportation Plan.

Before joining ABI, Mr. Limmer served as planning manager for Valley Metro in Phoenix, AZ, where he led the team responsible for developing Valley Metro’s capital program, including implementing 60 miles of light rail and modern streetcar, along with bus improvement projects, transit centers, park-and-rides, and other facilities.
Mr. Limmer’s 15 years of experience in the transit industry have prepared him for the role leading Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.’s transportation department. In addition to playing a significant part in the development of the light rail and streetcar system in Phoenix, Mr. Limmer also played a large role in the development of the Healthline Bus Rapid Transit program in Cleveland, OH.
Mr. Limmer received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Master of Urban Planning, Design & Development from Cleveland State University.
