Upcoming Events At This Venue

August 24, 2017

The lantern parade is a creative community collaboration. Thank you for making a lantern to walk in the parade! Your participation is what makes the magic. Please read parade details at https://art.beltline.org/lantern-parade

Get your Globe Lantern workshop tickets here!

Let the bright colors and bold imagery of the exhibition Threads of Time: Tradition and Change in Indigenous American Textiles inspire your lantern design for the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade on September 9. After a tour of the exhibition with Emory PhD candidate Liz Charis, enjoy a glass of wine and get creative. We will be tricking out 20” paper globe lanterns with colored papers, glue, and marker. The lanterns attach to a 5’ bamboo pole and have a 3-LED battery operated light. These lanterns can be as simple or complex as you wish. You can easily finish in an hour or you can luxuriate with fabulous details and take whatever paper you need to finish at home. All materials, light, and batteries included. Tickets are non-refundable. Please do your best to arrive on time. Thanks!

This workshop is 21+ but don’t worry, there are plenty of other family-friendly workshops on our schedule!

Parking is available at the Fishburne and Oxford Road parking decks. Fishburne is free after 5 pm and Oxford is free after 7 pm. Both are free on the weekends.http://carlos.emory.edu/visit/directions-parking
