BeltLine Live Stream: Historic Preservation as Advocacy

June 30, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Nedra Deadwyler, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine’s Scholar-in-Residence for the 2020-2021 exhibition season, will speak on her work. Nedra collected information using digital archives and interviews with several individuals in order to engage cultural memory at seven locations around the Atlanta BeltLine. Discussions ranged from tree canopies to food systems, included historical and personal events, and then grounded them to place. Nedra recognizes the profound need to preserve people, culture, and place in order to maintain places that inspire and maintain authenticity. Nedra will host a community activation pertaining to her research in addition to presenting her year-long research.

This event is part of BeltLine Live Stream, virtual Art on the Atlanta BeltLine events taking place in June 2021.
