Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Announces Ponce City Market and 10th & Monroe as Co-Presenting Sponsors of 2017 Art on the Atlanta BeltLine

The South’s largest temporary public art exhibition runs September through November

ATLANTA (August 11, 2017) — The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) is pleased to announce that Ponce City Market and 10th & Monroe will serve as Co-Presenting Sponsors for this year’s Art on the Atlanta BeltLine.

Presented by Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. since 2010, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine has grown in scope to become the largest temporary outdoor art exhibition in the South. Now in its eighth year, the linear gallery represents artists from across Atlanta, the nation, and the world and in a variety of mediums: sculpture, murals, dance, music, theater, photography, and more. Atlanta BeltLine trail users are at the forefront of this year’s exhibition. Art pieces seek to enhance the visitor’s sense of discovery and adventure through street-style performances, art making along the trails, interactive art works, and works that embody navigating urban space as an experience, as well as a place. The Atlanta BeltLine’s public art collection includes permanent and rotating works of art from different funding sources. These pieces can be found along the trails year-round.

Starting with the Lantern Parade on September 9, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine runs through November with live performances taking place on the weekends of September 23 & 24 and October 7 & 8.

Additional Art on the Atlanta BeltLine sponsors include Platinum Sponsors Cox Enterprises and MailChimp; Gold Sponsors Park Tavern, Sunbelt Rentals, AJC/Living Intown and Turner; Bronze Sponsor Kroger; and Patron Sponsors Inman Park Neighborhood Association and Flashpoint Artists Initiative. Major support for Art on the Atlanta BeltLine is provided by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Funding for the program is also provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. The project is also supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Lantern Parade is presented by Cox Enterprises, Target and WellStar Atlanta Medical Center, with additional support from Ponce City Market.

“The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is extremely grateful to Ponce City Market and 10th & Monroe for their leadership role in supporting Art on the Atlanta BeltLine,” said the Partnership’s Executive Director Rob Brawner. “We also appreciate Cox Enterprises, Mailchimp and our other private and public sponsors for their ongoing support of what has become one of our region’s premier fall events and one of the most tangible ways people connect with the Atlanta BeltLine.”

“The Atlanta BeltLine is crucial to the City’s long-term future and continued growth. Art on the Atlanta BeltLine ensures that the space continues to thrive as a community hub that brings people from across the City together. We are proud to sponsor the exhibition again and are committed to the ideals of the Atlanta BeltLine, including creating a more walkable and diverse City,” said Matt Bronfman, CEO and Principal of Jamestown.

“Art on the Atlanta BeltLine is an important exercise in public art, something that we feel is critical for all communities,” said Jim Kegley, founder of 10th & Monroe. “We’re grateful to have the opportunity to support world-class art along the Atlanta BeltLine in our hometown for so many years.”
