Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Announces Westside Homeowner Education Workshops

Free Workshops Will Focus on Empowering Residents in Atlanta BeltLine Neighborhoods to Make Informed Home Ownership Choices

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Home Place Consulting are partnering to provide a series of homeowner education workshops for residents in communities along the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail. The workshops are designed to ensure existing homeowners in Atlanta BeltLine neighborhoods are equipped to take advantage of available resources to stay in their homes, or knowledgeably evaluate opportunities if they are considering selling.

Led by Tia McCoy, a National HomeOwnership Trainer and Consultant, these free, 2-hour community workshops will help homeowners learn about

  • Resources available to help homeowners stay in their homes
  • Homeowner occupied rehab programs
  • Property taxes and tax exemptions
  • Homeowners insurance and code enforcement
  • How to calculate the value of your home
  • What investors do with homes they purchase
  • How to get a fair price if you sell
  • How to be engaged in your community

“The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is committed to helping ensure residents are able to remain in their communities and benefit from the investments being made in the Atlanta BeltLine,” said Atlanta BeltLine Partnership Executive Director Rob Brawner. “We are proud to partner with Home Place Consulting to offer these workshops to homeowners who may not be aware of the resources available to them.”

“Understanding the relationship between homeownership and community is of vital importance,” said McCoy. “As a community changes, so do many aspects of homeownership. These workshops will address issues that have often been of concern to homeowners living near and around the Atlanta BeltLine.”

  1. Please let me know when the next workshop is.
And I would love to get a list of workforce housing and rental properties available and how to apply…

    1. Hi, Kylie. We are in the process of planning our workshop schedule for 2018. I’ve noted your name and email address and when we have the schedule set, I’ll let you know so you can sign up for the next workshop that’s convenient for you. And here’s a link to the page on our website that reviews our various affordable housing programs. You’ll see a link there to a page that lets you search for rental properties hosted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. That site should be helpful in finding you affordable rental property. Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay in responding. -John
