Coming Soon: Affordable Senior Living in Reynoldstown!

Ground has officially been broken on Reynoldstown Senior Housing, and those who joined us at the ceremony on April 14 were able to see that heavy construction is already in progress. The groundbreaking ceremony, hosted by Mercy Housing, marks the official beginning of building the affordable 70-unit property on Field Street in Reynoldstown.

Reynoldstown Senior will be reserved for residents ages 55 and up and is being built just a few blocks from the Atlanta BeltLine. With this proximity comes a host of amenities, including access to the future Eastside Trail extension that will go from the existing trail to Memorial Drive. It will also have direct access to streetcar transit, walkability to neighborhood parks, restaurants, and events at the future Reynoldstown stage.

The new affordable housing units are a result of years of work in partnership with Mercy Housing, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Atlanta, Invest Atlanta, and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The Atlanta BeltLine contributed $1.5 million to this project, and to date, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and Invest Atlanta have invested more than $3.5 million in Reynoldstown affordable  housing projects utilizing the BeltLine Affordable Housing Trust Fund. These investments have been in six different owner-occupied and rental developments, resulting in the creation of 108 affordable workforce housing units in advance of the Eastside Trail extension.

The affordable housing units are part of a broader multi-faceted housing strategy that works toward creating housing for a mix of incomes and ages around the Atlanta BeltLine. Reynoldstown Senior allows for “aging in place,” to help ensure senior citizens are able to stay in the neighborhoods they call home.
