Atlanta Streetcar Walking Tours Debut in June

As the Atlanta Streetcar prepares to start construction, you’re invited to get a preview on foot of where the transit lines will operate. Join walking tours this summer of the future route with a stop for lunch at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. Tours will start at the southeast entrance to Peachtree Center MARTA station at Peachtree and Ellis Streets downtown. The 2.7 mile jaunt will involve city streets, busy intersections and highway on-ramps. While kids are fine to bring, the sidewalks are not in great shape, so it is preferred that strollers stay at home. Dogs are fine, too, as long as they are good on city streets and on a leash.

Tours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (including lunch). Comfortable shoes, water, and cameras are encouraged. Anything you do not want to carry around for 2 hours is discouraged.

  1. Why does the rendering show the Atlanta Streetcar on Broad Street? Broad Street is no slated for a streetcar line under either the existing construction project, nor the Beltline additions to be funded by the T-SPLOST.
