Westside Walking Tour and Transportation Reception

Reception for the American Planning Association (APA) Conference in Atlanta, GA

Join Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT), the Westside Communities Alliance (WCA), and the Atlanta BeltLine for a reception featuring some of the extraordinary work being done to improve transportation and quality of life on the west side of Atlanta. This event will kick off with an optional walking tour of Washington Park, Atlanta’s first planned black neighborhood, before arriving at the location of our reception – Johnny M’s Pizza Bistro. Whether attending the tour or not, all are welcome to enjoy great food, drinks, networking, and downtown skyline views from Johnny M’s rooftop terrace.

When: Tuesday, April 29th from 6:30-9:00pm (optional tour also begins at 6:30pm from Ashby MARTA)

Where: Johnny M’s Pizza Bistro (904 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30314)

Who: All APA Conference attendees and interested members of the general public are welcome!

About the Walking Tour

For those participating in the walking tour, please meet at Ashby MARTA station at 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 29th. If you are running late please feel free to catch up with us or just head straight to the reception at Johnny M’s Pizza Bistro (corner of Jospeh E. Lowery Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive). We will be walking along the Lionel Hampton Trail, the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail, and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in that order. The tour is expected to take about 45 minutes.
