Registration is underway for the 2015 Earth Day on the Atlanta BeltLine on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Project 1 – Bamboo Removal on the Eastside Hiking Trail Northern Extension
With the popularity of the Eastside Trail, this stretch of interim hiking trail is getting more and more use. Volunteer will help to improve the experience as people use the Atlanta BeltLine to connect between Ansley Mall, Piedmont Park and surrounding amenities. Additionally, removing invasive plant species will increase the area available for native plants to grow, helping to support the local wildlife food web.
All volunteers should wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, long sleeves and pants, work gloves (extra gloves will be available), and should bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. Be prepared for moderate to heavy work. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, April 18, 2015
All volunteers should arrive at the site by 8:30 a.m. to check in and should bring a signed waiver, which can be accessed from the registration website above. Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at noon.
