Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade Workshop – Illuminated Parasols

September 15, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm

This lantern workshop is hosted by Chantelle Rytter and Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons in support of the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade to be held Saturday, September 21, 2019! It’s our 10th year! The lantern parade is a creative community collaboration, and your participation is what makes the magic! Please read details about this year’s parade here.

We are tricking out white paper parasols with colored paper, glue, marker, and string lights. The cool thing about a parasol is that it can fold up and go in a bag – after it dries! It is best for kids who have mastered scissors, approximately 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All materials, lights, and batteries included. Tickets are $30 per parasol and can be purchased here. Tickets help fund the parade and are non-refundable. Please do your best to be on time to enjoy the introduction.

Take a look at the Lantern Workshop Gallery and get some ideas!

We strongly suggest you walk, bike or take public transportation or ride share to the workshop. The Atlanta BeltLine Center can be accessed directly off the Eastside Trail just south of Irwin St. If you’re driving to the Center, limited parking is available at Stoveworks and at the Alexan on Krog. Paid parking is available at the gravel lot at the corner of Irwin and Krog Streets. Street parking is also available on Auburn Ave. near Studioplex.
