The Atlanta BeltLine is unlike any other project Atlanta has ever known. At its core, the project is intended to enrich the communities and lives in and around the city in multidimensional ways. While that mission is carried out in every aspect of the project’s development, we have specific programs in place to provide a very measurable benefit to the people that will live with and benefit from the Atlanta BeltLine now and into the future. Our energizing programs are comprised of outreach initiatives intended to make our city and all it has to offer more accessible and attainable for everyone within our diverse communities.
The Atlanta BeltLine affordable housing program seeks to make city living financially attainable for both renters and homeowners. Our goal is to create 5,600 units of affordable housing over twenty-five years, with 15% of net bond proceeds dedicated to an affordable housing trust fund. To date, $8.8 million has been capitalized in this fund, administered by Invest Atlanta. This provides dollars to homebuyers through down payment assistance and incentives to developers to build affordable housing. To date, this funding has helped create 120 affordable housing units along the Atlanta BeltLine. Learn more
The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is bringing together leaders from public, private, non-profit, educational, and community organizations to facilitate a new model of coordination, collaboration, and synchronization that better connects residents living — or desiring to live — near the Atlanta BeltLine with employers located along it. In doing so, we believe it is possible to reduce costs associated with hiring, training, and employee turnover; ensure Atlanta BeltLine residents have requisite job skills and access to economic opportunities; and mitigate the environmental impacts associated with long automobile commutes.
