Atlanta BeltLine Fitness Fair Attracts Hundreds to Come Out and Play and Get Fit

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership hosted the first Atlanta BeltLine Fitness Fair on Tuesday, March 24 at Historic Fourth Ward Park. Hundreds walked, ran, biked or danced their way to sample some of the Partnership’s many free fitness classes and activities at the Fitness Fair. Activities included dodgeball and kickball from Atlanta ContactPoint, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) from FitWit, aerobics, Chen Tai Chi Atlanta, yoga from REI, group runs with Atlanta Track Club as well as additional partners who had informational tents or tables at the fair.

The highlight of the evening was presenting Atlanta BeltLine enthusiast Ron Smith with the 2014 Atlanta BeltLine Active Lifestyle Competition award and announcing the kick-off of the 2015 Active Lifestyle Competition beginning April 1.

Thousands have participated in the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership’s Free Fitness Classes, launched in partnership with dozens of organizations aimed at getting Atlantans out and moving on the Atlanta BeltLine. Each week, dozens of activities provide the free opportunity for individuals of all ages and fitness levels to try new types of fun activities. The classes are offered in support of the Partnership’s goal of creating healthier communities throughout the city.
