It has been remarkable to see the thousands of people using and enjoying the Eastside Trail on a daily basis in the short time since its opening.
In the face of a few recent robberies, the APD has increased patrols along the Eastside Trail, including officers on bicycle, on foot and on an electric vehicle donated to the Atlanta Police Foundation. Officers from the Community Oriented Policing Section and Zone 6 have increased visibility on the Atlanta BeltLine. Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. works diligently with the Atlanta Police Department (APD) and the City to protect the public.
A plan is underway to install additional lighting soon to further enhance public safety. Additional measures will include security cameras and increased coordination with neighborhood patrol groups.
APD asks members of the public to be mindful of their personal safety, to be aware of their surroundings at all times, and to call 911 to report suspicious activity.
