Please keep in mind that this is still an active construction site and as such is currently CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, but we hope this teaser will whet your appetites for when the trail opens later this summer… When completed, the Eastside Trail will stretch 2.25 miles from Piedmont Park (just beyond view in the photo above), through Virginia Highland and Old Fourth Ward to Inman Park.

If the Regional Transportation Referendum passes on July 31, 2012, 10.2 miles of transit (including along the Eastside Trail) will be built within a few short years. Approximately 5 miles will be built on the Atlanta BeltLine’s east and west sides with 5 additional miles in crosstown connections and three connections to MARTA train stations.
