Warm Welcome to Brian Hooker, our New Director of Real Estate!
posted in Atlanta BeltLine News // 03/15/12

We at the Atlanta BeltLine are excited to welcome our newest team member, Brian Hooker, as the Director of Real Estate! Brian will be responsible for overseeing all real estate‐related activities for ABI as pertaining to parks, trails, transit right‐of‐way, affordable workforce housing and economic development.  Brian joins ABI from CBRE, where he served as a Director of Real Estate Consulting, and will be leveraging his extensive experience in providing site selection advisory services and guiding clients to choose cities for business expansion and relocation.  The management and execution of ABI’s real estate strategy includes proactively working with the City of Atlanta, The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, The Trust for Public Land, PATH, Park Pride and other partner organizations.

We are building a team of exceptional individuals with unique talents and passion, an attribute the Atlanta BeltLine demands, and I am particularly pleased that we were able to recruit someone of Brian’s caliber to head up real estate for us. His experience in both the private and public sectors will be invaluable as we continue to make the Atlanta BeltLine a reality throughout the City of Atlanta.”

— Brian Leary, President and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.

Brian’s 11 years of real estate experience in site selection, economic incentives, brokerage and transaction management, funding, expansion, and advisory roles in both the public and private sector will be critical in helping develop one of the most ambitious redevelopment projects underway in the United States. Before CBRE, Brian worked at Luxcore Networks, which he co-founded, IBM Global Services, the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, and the Fulton County Courts.

The Atlanta BeltLine is the single biggest redevelopment opportunity in Atlanta and, arguably, the country. I feel quite fortunate to have the opportunity to join ABI’s all-star team and I look forward to our work ahead.  I believe the Atlanta BeltLine will be a tremendous economic catalyst for our region and will improve our quality of life for many decades to come.

— Brian Hooker, Director of Real Estate of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.

A Stanford University graduate in Electrical Engineering, Brian is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and a graduate of the Real Estate Associates Program (REAP) where he serves on its Board of Directors.  Brian has been a key contributor for the Atlanta Business Chronicle on subject matters pertaining to Atlanta’s future growth and diversity in commercial real estate.  Brian is also the one of the hosts for the live broadcasts of Georgia Lottery Drawings on WSB TV.
